CEAL – a new perspective on social economy

‘CEAL – a new perspective on social economy from the British experience’ project worth PLN 1,060,805.81. Implemented between 1 June 2010 and 31 December 2011 under Sub-measure 7.2.2 of the Human Capital Operational Programme. The project was implemented in partnership with Ashton Community Trust from Belfast and Discover Children’s Centre from London. The main activity of the project was to support 10 non-governmental organisations from the Tri-City, whose representatives took part in a Social Entrepreneurship Manager Course on the use of economic and business factors in the daily activities of non-governmental organisations. The key activities of the project were study visits for representatives of non-governmental organisations, the City of Gdańsk and employers, as well as internships for NGO representatives in London and Belfast. Knowledge about good solutions in the field of social economy, which have been practised for years by British non-governmental organisations running social enterprises, was used to develop the Neighbourhood House Model. The model is a practical guide that answers questions about how to set up and run a Neighbourhood House in Poland.

We encourage you to read the model, which is available in the Publications tab.

The project was co-financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund.
