FEPM.05.21-IZ.00-001/24
The Gdańsk Foundation for Social Innovation (GFIS), in partnership with the Polish Scouting Association, Pomeranian District (OP ZHR), has received a grant for the project ‘Development and Cooperation’ to enhance the organisational capabilities of both organisations. The project will be implemented between 1 February 2025 and 2026. The project venues are adapted to people with special needs.
The aim of the project is to strengthen the effectiveness of human and financial resources in the implementation of the statutory activities of GFIS and OP ZHR. The project is aimed at 186 people – 99 employees and volunteers of GFIS and 2 employees and 85 volunteers of OP ZHR.
Project activities include:
Development and implementation of a fundraising strategy for GFIS;
Training for GFIS staff;
Development and implementation of a GFIS HR strategy;
Development of standards for the organisation of leisure activities and management of OP ZHR premises;
Implementation of self-defence, first aid and water rescue courses for OP ZHR volunteers;
Conducting development workshops and group supervision for OP ZHR volunteers;
Building a platform for cooperation between GFIS and OP ZHR for the development of volunteering.
Expected results of the project:
Implementation of the GFIS fundraising strategy and two fundraising campaigns;
Implementation of the GFIS HR strategy;
120 hours of competence training and 64 hours of supervision for GFIS staff;
Five 12-hour development workshops for 75 GFIS staff members;
7 self-defence courses for 60 OP ZHR volunteers;
3 water rescue and first aid courses for 30 OP ZHR volunteers;
20 hours of off-site development workshops and 24 hours of supervision for OP ZHR staff;
Implemented procedures for organising leisure activities and managing OP ZHR premises;
Creation of a cooperation platform for the development of volunteering;
Implementation of two volunteer campaigns.
The project responds to the organisational needs of GFIS and OP ZHR resulting from the diagnosis carried out until May 2024. GFIS faces challenges related to its dependence on public funds, lack of a fundraising strategy, limited access to training and the problem of staff burnout. OP ZHR recognises the need for training and supervision for volunteers, standardisation of leisure activities and an increase in the number of lifeguards and medical care.
The project involves the use of the resources and working methods of both organisations and the development of a cooperation platform that will enable better use of the potential of employees and volunteers.
