It's easier for active people

The ‘Aktywnym łatwiej’ (Active is easier) project, worth PLN 1,034,052.28, was implemented between 1 January 2011 and 31 December 2012 under Sub-measure 7.2.1 of the Human Capital Operational Programme.12.2012 under Sub-measure 7.2.1 of the Human Capital Operational Programme

The project was aimed at people with disabilities and young people from the Orunia district of Gdańsk. We provided support to participants as part of the programme for the activation of people with disabilities and the programme ‘From volunteering to employment’.

The programme for the activation of people with disabilities provided participation in catering, theatre, manual skills and recreational workshops, as well as trips to cultural facilities in the Tri-City area. Four project participants took part in three-month professional internships, during which they gained professional experience in real working conditions.

As part of the ‘From Volunteering to Employment’ programme, workshops were held on music, citizen journalism, writing and project management, organisation and methods of working with children. Participants interested in acquiring new professional qualifications necessary for working with children took part in a lifeguard and camp counsellor course. The skills and qualifications acquired during the training and courses were put to use by the participants as they gained experience working at the community centre in the Gościnna Przystań Neighbourhood House in Gdańsk's Orunia district and on the social networking site MojaOrunia.pl. The group of participants organised and conducted a summer trip for children from the community centre to Wdzydze Tucholskie, gaining experience in the organisation of summer holidays.
