Social and professional activation system in Gdańsk – active integration component
The Gdańsk Foundation for Social Innovation (GFIS) is implementing a partnership project entitled: ‘System of social and professional activation in Gdańsk – active integration component’
The aim of the project is to increase social and professional activity and reduce the risk of poverty and social exclusion among the residents of Gdańsk by developing and implementing a sustainable cross-sectoral social and professional integration system carried out in comprehensive cooperation between local government, non-governmental organisations and economic and social entities.
The project is implemented by the main partner, the City of Gdańsk, in partnership with the Aleksandra FOSA Social Support Foundation, the Gdańsk Foundation for Social Innovation, the St. Brother Albert Aid Society, Gdańsk Branch, the ‘Free Enterprise’ Association Local Branch in Gdańsk, the WAGA Association, the Polish Association for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, Gdańsk Branch, the Gdańsk Social Cooperative, the Regional Volunteer Centre in Gdańsk and the Pelikan Family Association.
The project is being implemented from 1 March 2017 to 30 March 2023.
The project is open to residents of Gdańsk who are economically inactive and at risk of social exclusion.
The support we offer includes:
- comprehensive diagnosis and development of a reintegration path
- individual psychological support
- individual career counselling
- work placements
- job placement
- vocational training and courses
- social animation
- individual development support

The total value of the project is PLN 13,460,712.28, of which PLN 11,441,605.44 comes from European Union funds, with the City of Gdańsk providing its own contribution.
This project is implemented under Measure: 06.01 ‘Active Integration’ Sub-measure 06.01.01 ‘Social and professional activation – ZIT mechanism’, co-financed by the European Social Fund. Regional Operational Programme for the Pomeranian Province for 2014-2020.
