Support for 8 children from GFIS Children's Homes

‘Support for 8 girls from GFIS Children's Homes’ – a project worth $105,000 implemented between 1 January 2010 and 31 December 2012 with a grant from Alcatel Lucent. The project provided individual support to 8 girls from GFIS Children's Homes. The girls took part in theoretical and practical vocational courses and benefited from additional foreign language classes. They had the opportunity to practise their language skills during a joint integration trip to Karlskrona. Throughout the project, the girls received support from a psychologist who conducted individual consultations and group workshops to build their self-esteem and self-confidence. An important element of the project was the involvement of Alcatel Lucent employees from Bydgoszcz and Warsaw in the implementation of the project activities. A group of employees from this company provided mentoring support to the girls participating in the project.
